Operation Resilience – W720 – Littleton Lane
Operation Resilience – W720 – Littleton Lane, Littleton – Advance Scheme Notification – Haunching
Following on from the haunching works that were carried out last year, some minor remedial works on Littleton Lane from Church Road to Stud Lane are now required. I would like to reassure you that the costs to carry out these works will be paid for by the contractor.
The works are programmed to start on 11 April 2017 and are expected to last for 2 working days. In order to undertake the works safely it will be necessary to close the road during which time access for residents and businesses will be limited.
Information signs advising road users of the works will be erected approximately 1 weeks before the start of works. A letter will be sent to local residents and an email will be sent to Crawley, Littleton and Harestock Parish Council, to advise them accordingly.

Traveller Local Plan – Initial Consultation
Winchester City Council has commenced preparation of its traveller site allocations local plan, following completion of two key pieces of evidence during 2016 – a Gypsy and Traveller Accommodation Needs Assessment undertaken by Opinion Research Services and an initial site assessment undertaken by Peter Brett Associates. The Council has started work on its Gypsy and Traveller Site Allocations Development Plan Document (DPD) which will allocate sites as necessary to meet identified …
Two calls for sites have not revealed any new sites and the Council is therefore looking at all options to be able to respond to the identified accommodation needs of travellers which are :-15 pitches for gypsies and travellers and 24 plots for travelling showpersons, in the period 2016 – 2031.
The Council has therefore devised a short consultation to seek views from a variety of sources to aid its consideration of the options available and to explore if other alternatives exist which have not previously been identified.

All responses should be returned by midday 8 May 2017. This will help the Council to be in a position to draft a local plan for further consultation in June.

TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE
MAIN ROAD, LITTLETON
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Winchester City Council as agents for Hampshire County Council proposes to make an Order on traffic management grounds to allow for highway works to be carried out as follows:‑
ROAD TO BE CLOSED:
MAIN ROAD, LITTLETON between its junction with Valley Road and its junction with Bercote Close.
ALTERNATIVE ROUTE:
Main Road, Littleton Road, Stud Lane, Andover Road North, Harestock Road, Kennel Lane, Main Road and vice versa.
ORDERS TO BE SUSPENDED:
None.
PERIOD OF RESTRICTION:
From and including the 1st February 2017 for a period of six months or until completion of the works whichever is sooner. (Notwithstanding the above it is expected that the closure will be required for no longer than 1 week)
Reasonable facilities will be provided to allow access to adjacent premises while the work is being carried out.

Grants of up to £500 are available for one-off pieces of expenditure if on projects, equipment and other items which will help your organisation to do more, to reach more people, to provide better services or to try something different.
You may wish to apply for a health related activity, a new/additional piece of equipment for a sports club, promotional material for an arts event/project, or a community activity.
Decisions will be advised w/c 27 February 2017. Monies are to be committed by the end of March 2017. This is a fast track grant scheme, organisation’s must be able to provide the evidence and be able to turn around the grant award paperwork quickly (by mid March latest).

Update: Operation Resilience Works
Following on from the haunching works that were carried out earlier this year on Littleton Road from Church Road, Crawley to Stud Lane, Littleton. At the time we were unable to complete these as we had to cancel the works due to the inclement weather and then not being able to obtain the road space in the programme. We have therefore reprogrammed the works to commence on 06 March 2017 and these are expected to last for 5 working days. In order to undertake the works safely it will be necessary to close the road during which time access for residents and businesses will be limited.
Information signs advising road users of the works will be erected approximately 2 weeks before the start of works. A letter will be sent to local residents and an email will be sent to Crawley, Littleton and Harestock Parish Council, to advise them accordingly.

As part of the programme of works being undertaken by Operation Resilience we will be undertaking carriageway structural edge repairs in Littleton Road, Crawley from Church Road, Crawley to Littleton Stud, Littleton. The works are programmed to start on 04/01/2017 and are expected to last for 15 working days. National Cyber Crime Survey
The City of London Police, in partnership with Get Safe Online, has put together a National Cyber Crime Survey.
Its purpose is to learn about people’s awareness of online safety and experiences of cybercrime, with a view to improve our knowledge and understanding and to help provide a better response to victims.
The results will help police forces gain a better idea of the challenges they are facing.

Littleton Red Telephone Box – gone for good?
BT states that the overall use of payphones has reduced by more than 90% in the last decade and the need to provide payphones for emergency situations is falling, with at least 98% of the UK having either 3G or 4G coverage.
BT advises that as long as there is network coverage, it is possible to call emergency services even when there is no credit or no coverage from your own mobile provider.
On 27 September 2016, BT posted a notice on the Littleton payphone proposed for removal, advising of their proposals. Under Ofcom regulations, WCC now has responsibility for carrying out a consultation with the local community on BTs proposals.
We are therefore seeking your comments on the proposed removal of any of the public payphones.
We would emphasise that you should be aware that BT requires justification for any objection made to the removal of a payphone. For example, there may be no mobile coverage in a particular area; the payphone may be well used by residents or the passing public; or it may be located close to an accident blackspot. Unfortunately the last recorded use of this payphone by BT was in 2012.

IGas Energy Public information meeting

Sites include Folly Farm, Hill Farm, Larkwhistle Farm and Fullerton, the planning permission for which expires on December 31 of this year. We have applied to extend this for a further 20 years. Please note, we are not proposing any extension or intensification of activity at these sites.
Alongside the application, we have organised a public exhibition to discuss our plans for various well sites in your area on Thursday 29 September in the Chilbolton Village Hall.
